Installation & Operating Guidelines
For the best performance and longevity, Penguin Chillers recommends:
- Positioning the chiller within 3 feet of the barrel drain whenever possible
- Ensuring the chiller sits at the same height or below the base of the barrel
- Installing the system in an area that can safely handle moisture and condensation
- Allowing the pump to run continuously for accurate temperature monitoring
- Keeping the inline filter clean to maintain optimal water flow
- Avoiding the use of timers, which may increase wear on the pump over time
Environmental conditions such as direct sunlight, high ambient temperatures, and lack of insulation can impact cooling efficiency. Reducing heat exposure can help maintain colder water temperatures more consistently.
Outdoor Use
The Cold Therapy Chiller is designed for outdoor operation in most weather conditions. However, if temperatures are expected to reach freezing levels, the unit should be disconnected and completely drained to prevent damage.
